Professional Experience

Kaelyn is an associate with Kinney & Lange, practicing intellectual property law in both transactional and litigation settings. Kaelyn primarily focuses her practice on patent law, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate studies, and drafting opinions of counsel regarding infringement, enforceability, and validity issues. Kaelyn has experience working with individual inventors, small businesses, and multinational corporations.

Kaelyn received her Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, summa cum laude. During law school, Kaelyn was a Notes & Comments Editor for Cybaris® An Intellectual Property Law Review.  Additionally, Kaelyn was a member of the third place team in the 2019 SIU National Health Law Moot Court, and she and her teammate were regional semi-finalists in the 2020 AIPLA Giles Rich Moot Court. Throughout law school, Kaelyn was a Mitchell Hamline Fellow and a member of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association

Kaelyn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Minnesota. While completing her undergraduate degree, Kaelyn worked as a teaching assistant for the College of Biological Sciences Foundations of Biology laboratory course. Prior to attending law school, Kaelyn worked for two years as a medical scribe for an eye care clinic in the Twin Cities metro area.

In her free time, Kaelyn enjoys reading fiction, visiting museums, learning to figure skate, and developing her digital art skills.
